Airport Facilities Assessment

RRF implemented the Airport Facilities Assessment (AFA) project, which mapped reception capacities in pre-selected countries of origin to identify existing reception structures and possible gaps or needs for improvement.

The countries covered are Bosnia and Herzegovina, India, Iraq, Moldova, Morocco, Nigeria, North Macedonia, Pakistan, Serbia, Somalia, The Gambia, Tunisia and Türkiye.

Achievements
  • Country-specific reports, including a checklist completed per country, with findings on reception capacities and structures for returnees.
  • Country-specific reports with in-depth information and potential ideas for projects to be implemented, specific to reception capacities and infrastructures in countries of origin.
  • Checklist of requirements for setting up and/or maintaining airport reception facilities.
  • Final report with main findings and recommendations.
