The Cashless Transfer Project (CTP) provides a secure digital payment system that allows EU and Schengen Associated countries to deliver support to returnees more efficiently. Responding to the need for faster, safer, and more transparent disbursement processes, the CTP replaces traditional cash-based methods, which can be administratively complex, less secure, and harder for returnees to access.
In the framework of the current cycle of the RRF, a pilot phase was launched to test mobile payments, including mobile wallets, e-vouchers, and direct mobile banking transfers, in a limited geographical scope. The RRF is closely monitoring implementation and documenting lessons learned from the pilot, with the goal of informing potential future scale-up and improving return and reintegration programming.
